Standard Compliant Translation Services
In general, the term “standard” refers to recognised rules formulated by certain bodies on the basis of verified results from science, technology and experience, to improve processes and services (among other things) or to put in place a quality standard.
The team at Bohemian Dragomans has made it its mission to offer you outstanding service through processes and procedures which conform to various standards. While the standard DIN EN ISO 9001 is the basis for our delivery of a quality management system, our work processes for translation services are carried out in strict accordance with the standards DIN EN 15038 and DIN EN ISO 17100, which is soon to come into force and to which we already work.
In what follows, we’ll give you a brief overview of the contents of these standards so that you’ll get a flavour of just how we work.
DIN EN 15038: This standard specifies that a translation will be completed, checked and corrected by translators in their native language, the so-called 4-eyes principle. In addition, it places special requirements on the qualification of the translator to achieve the best translation result possible.
DIN EN ISO 17100: This international translation standard will come into force in the not too distant future and offers a few excellent enhancements to the preceding standard DIN EN 15038. Such enhancements include not only the translation itself, but also the different phases throughout the whole translation process. In addition to linguistic qualification, DIN EN 17100 also stipulates particular requirements concerning the professional competence of a translator.
Naturally, as a modern, global company we are always current and up to date. Our translation services are delivered in accordance with ISO 9001, DIN EN 15038 and ISO 17100, which complement our proven internal quality system, so that you can always be sure to benefit from a quality, high-value translation service.
